Description

A creamy, refreshing iced matcha latte made with vibrant green tea powder, milk, and ice. This easy homemade recipe is packed with antioxidants, natural caffeine, and smooth flavors. Perfect for a healthy morning boost or a midday pick-me-up.

Ingredients

🔹 1 teaspoon matcha powder (ceremonial or culinary grade)
🔹 2 ounces hot water (not boiling, ~175°F)
🔹 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy: oat, almond, coconut, or soy)
🔹 Ice cubes
🔹 1-2 teaspoons sweetener (optional) – honey, maple syrup, agave, or vanilla syrup

Instructions

Step 1: Sift the Matcha Powder

Sift 1 teaspoon matcha powder through a fine-mesh strainer to remove lumps for a smoother texture.

Step 2: Whisk Matcha with Warm Water

Add 2 ounces of warm water (175°F) to the matcha powder. Use a bamboo whisk (chasen) or an electric frother to whisk in a zig-zag motion until frothy and fully dissolved.

Step 3: Add Sweetener (Optional)

Stir in 1-2 teaspoons of honey, maple syrup, or vanilla syrup for extra flavor.

Step 4: Fill a Glass with Ice and Milk

Take a tall glass, fill it with ice cubes, and pour in 1 cup of cold milk (oat, almond, dairy, or coconut milk).

Step 5: Pour the Whisked Matcha Over the Milk

Slowly pour the whisked matcha over the iced milk to create a beautiful layered effect.

Step 6: Stir & Enjoy!

Mix well, sip, and enjoy your homemade iced matcha latte!

Notes

✅ For extra creaminess, use oat milk or whole milk.
✅ Want it extra strong? Add 1.5 teaspoons of matcha powder.
✅ Prefer a frothy texture? Cold-foam the milk before pouring it over the ice.
✅ Experiment with flavors – try adding vanilla extract, coconut milk, or cinnamon for a twist!
