1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free blend)
1 cup rolled oats
½ cup light brown sugar
¼ tsp salt

½ tsp espresso powder (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment.
Mix crumble dough: Combine dry ingredients, stir in melted butter and vanilla.
Make chocolate filling: Melt chocolate chips, condensed milk, butter, and espresso powder in a saucepan.
Assemble: Press ⅔ of crumble mix into pan, spread chocolate layer, sprinkle remaining crumble on top.
Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden.
Cool & slice: Let set, chill for clean cuts, then slice into bars.
Notes
- Don’t overmix the dough you want crumbles, not a smooth dough.
- Use rolled oats (not quick oats) for that hearty, bakery-style finish.
- Let the bars cool fully before slicing to avoid a messy middle.
